WINDSOR - At the Colorado High School Activities Association's 4A Boys Golf Region 3 regional at Pelican Lakes Resort & Golf, Kellen Ball, a senior for the Windsor Wizards, thrived on the local course -- shooting 1-under 71 to win the individual regional championship -- but it wasn't enough to prevent the Monarch Coyotes (17-over 233) to claim the team championship.

The Wizards finished as the runner-up, narrowly behind the Coyotes, shooting 19-over 235 on the day.

Monarch was one of two programs to place multiple golfers among the top-10 individuals, with Justin Myers (4-over 76) finishing tied for second with Riverdale Ridge's Carter Seis, and Cameron Nicholson (5-over 77) finishing in a four-way tie for fourth place with Longmont's Jayson Mitts, Loveland's Will Sallee and Skyline's Jacob Lacrosse.

Behind the logjam at fourth place, Mead junior Booth Hayes and Northridge sophomore Everett Lewis tied for eighth (6-over 78). Skyline sophomore Zack Lacrosse and Silver Creek senior Preston Waller closed out the top-10 with a tenth-place tie, at 9-over 79.

CHSAA's 2024 4A Boys Golf State Championship will be played at Tiara Rado Golf Course in Redlands, on Monday and Tuesday, Oct. 7 and 8.
