LAKEWOOD - With a remarkable performance that saw Evergreen shoot an even 213 on the day, the Cougars won the Boys Golf 3A Region 2 Regional at Fox Hollow Golf Course on Monday. 

Evergreen won the regional thanks, in part, to all four of its golfers finishing in the top six. In addition to senior Tyler Long winning the regional with a blistering 7-under 64, senior Liam Houlihan tied with Discovery Canyon sophomore Alex Doyle for second, with the pair carding 2-over 73s, and senior Lincoln Mackay taking fifth, one stroke back of Palmer Ridge senior Britt Lane's 3-over 74.

Senior Luke Sabina rounded out the top-six Cougars, as he placed in a three-way tie for sixth with Discovery Canyon senior Caleb Ritchie and D'Evelyn senior Zach White. All three shot matching 7-over 78s through the round. 

Conifer senior Casey Rummell (9-over 80) finished ninth, just two strokes ahead of a three-way tie for 10th-place (11-over 82) between Green Mountain's Rob Willis, and Kent Denver's Johnny Eisinger and Simon Cho.

Discovery Canyon finished second to Evergreen in the team race, with a score of 237. Palmer Ridge took third at 243, while Conifer and Kent Denver tied for fourth at 249.

CHSAA's 2024 3A Boys Golf State Championship at Walking Stick Golf Course in Pueblo, on Monday and Tuesday, Oct. 7 and 8.
