AURORA - The 2024 Colorado High School Activities Association boys volleyball eight regional champions have been determined, with all eight teams advancing to next week's state championships.
The state championships will be hosted at Overland High School Thursday though Saturday, May 9-11. The bracket will be a double-elimination bracket through the semifinals with the championship match being single elimination. The eight-team bracket will be released on Monday.
The eight qualifiers for the state bracket are:
- Douglas County
- Mountain Vista
- Thornton
- Eaglecrest
- Littleton Public Schools
- Grandview
- Fountain-Fort Carson
- Cherokee Trail
Region 1: No. 16 seeded Douglas County High School took down the No. 1 overall seed and defending state champion Discovery Canyon High School. Douglas County went 6-1 in the regional tournament, losing their lone set to the Thunder. The Huskies also took down No. 24 Stargate School, en route to their state tournament bid.
Region 2: No. 2 seeded Mountain Vista High School secured its bid to the state tournament by sweeping all six sets against No. 15 Cheyenne Mountain High School and No. 23 Regis Groff High School.
Region 3: No. 3 Thornton High School also picked up a bid by sweeping all of its sets in its regional. Thornton beat out No. 14 Sand Creek High School and No. 22 Hinkley High School.
Region 4: No. 4 Eaglecrest High School is the final team to sweep all sets in its region, beating No. 13 Poudre School District and No. 21 Regis Jesuit.
Region 5: No. 5 Littleton Public Schools defeated No. 12 Ponderosa High School, 3-1, and No. XX DSST: College View, 3-1, to secure its spot in the state championships.
Region 6: No. 6 Grandview High School secured its bid in a competitive finale against No. 11 Arvada West High School, winning 3-2. Grandview also beat out No. 19 Bear Creek High School, 3-1.
Region 7: No. 7 Fountain-Fort Carson swept No. 18 Valor Christian High School and beat No. 10 Vista PEAK Prep, 3-1, to get its bid into the state championship.
Region 8: No. 8 Cherokee Trail High School swept No. 9 Niwot High School and overcame No. 17 Legend High School, 3-2, to secure its bid to the state championship.
