AURORA - The first round of the Colorado High School Activities Association’s esports postseason tournament for MarioKart 8 Deluxe was completed Monday, with 8 teams advancing to the quarterfinal round, which will be played on Wednesday, April 24.
In the second round, all of the top four seeds advanced to the quarterfinals, and there were only two teams that managed to defeat a higher seed. Rocky Mountain was the last school left with multiple teams still standing, but that changed this round as Denver North's "North Kart A" knocked off Rocky Mountain's "RMHS Lobos JV" team.
The tournament is a single-elimination bracket with quarterfinal games being played Wednesday, April 24. The four winners on the 24th will advance to the in-person final at Localhost on Thursday, May 2.
