The Colorado High School Activities Association’s 2024 Alpine Skiing State Championships will run Feb. 15-16 at
Loveland Valley Ski Area, in Dillon.
What time will the competition start?
- The first runs on both days will begin at 10 a.m.
What time will the venue open?
- Loveland Valley Ski Area will open to the public at 8:30 a.m.
Do I need to buy a ticket to enter?
- Yes. To attend the event as a spectator, one must have either a lift ticket or a spectator pass. Spectator passes can be purchased via the Race Club.
Where can I park?
- Public parking will be available for free at the ski resort.
Can I hike to the finish line?
- No. Hiking to the finish line is not allowed this year. To watch the race, you must have a pass for the day. Spectator passes are available for $90 from the Race Club.
How will I know when a certain team is competing?
- The start list for the event will be available at CHSAANow.com.
How do racers make CHSAA's Skiing State Championships?
- In order to participate in the State Championships, a racer has to be both eligible and qualified.
- A racer becomes eligible by competing in at least two out of the three races in that discipline.
- A racer becomes qualified in a given discipline by finishing in the top 25% of the starting field (cumulative times from both runs if there are two) in at least one race of that discipline.
- Skiers can compete in multiple disciplines if they are eligible and qualified to.

Where can I find past champions or team winners/Is there a championship archive?
- The digital program includes information on past champions, winners and more! Past champions can also be found in the championship archives for boys skiing and girls skiing.
Will there be a trophy presentation?
- The top five skiers among boys and the top five among girls, in each of the four disciplines, will be awarded a medal from CHSAA. Trophies will be awarded to the boys and girls ski teams that finish first and second overall at the end of the Nordic events next week.
Will there be merchandise available to purchase on-site?
- Souvenir items (t-shirts, sweatshirts, pins, shorts, etc.) will be available for purchase on-site through the Kukulski Brothers. For pre-sale items, call (602-386-3460) or email the Kukulski Brothers.
