AURORA - Over the course of the last two weeks, the Colorado high school team state champions have been crowned for skiing, in addition to alpine's giant slalom and slalom, and nordic's skate and classic individual state champions.
Summit High School swept the team titles with the boys and girls teams combining to win six of the eight individual state titles. On the boys side, sophomore Seth Montgomery swept the alpine titles, winning both giant slalom and slalom, while James Sowers won the classic race at the nordic championships.
On the girls side, freshman Elodie Olsen won giant slalom and senior classmate Ella Snyder took first in slalom. In the nordic races, junior Ella Hagen claimed the skate title.
The other two individual state titles went to Poudre's Cade Shortridge in boys skate - marking Poudre School District's first-ever skiing state champion - and Battle Mountain's Lindsey Whitton in girls classic.
