How do teams qualify for the state championships?
Qualifying is different for teams and individuals at each classification. Below is a breakdown of the different scenarios:

  • 4A Individuals: The top three individuals in each event from each regional, who aren’t included on a state qualifying team, will automatically qualify. The final nine spots for qualification will be awarded to the top nine individuals in each event, regardless of regional (18 total spots).
  • 5A Teams: 10 teams will qualify to compete at the state championships. The top team score in each of the three regionals will automatically qualify. The final seven spots for qualification will be awarded to the next seven best team scores, regardless of regional.
  • 5A Individuals: The top two individuals on each event from each regional, who aren’t included on a state qualifying team, will automatically qualify. The final six spots for qualification will be awarded to the top six individuals in each event, regardless of regional (12 total spots).
