How do teams qualify for the state championships?
At the end of the regular season, the CHSAA Selection & Seeding Index will be utilized to capture at-large qualifiers to the state tournament bracket and seed the teams 1-32 (1-16 in 2A). If any automatic qualifiers aren’t included in the seeding, those automatic qualifiers will replace the lowest-seeded non-automatic qualifying teams in the bracket. The order of teams 17-32 in 3A and 5-16 for 2A may be moved on the bracket due to geography and the exclusion of first round league opponents. League opponents will only be avoided in the first round.
Where can I find results?
Results can be found on the CHSAA website or MaxPreps.
A livestream of the semifinals and finals matches can be
found here.
What is the format of the competition?
All classes will compete in a single-elimination tournament.
If there is a tie at the end of regulation, a 15-minute sudden victory overtime period will be played. If the tie remains at the end of the first overtime period, there will be a second 15-minute sudden victory period. If the game is still tied after both overtimes, teams will compete in Kicks-from-the-Penalty Mark (KFTPM).
For KFTPM, each team will select any five rostered, non-disqualified players, including the goalkeeper, to participate in the first five kicks. If the score is still tied after those first five kicks, each coach will select five different players. Every kick from 6 on will be done in a sudden-victory format, wherein if one team scores and the other does not score, the game is ended without additional kicks being taken.
How is a winner determined?
The 5A-3A classes will compete in a 32-team single-elimination tournament. The 2A class will compete in a 16-team single-elimination tournament.

If the tie remains at the end of the first overtime period, there will be a second 15-minute sudden victory period.
