AURORA - The Colorado State High School Activities Association is pleased to announce the hiring of Colette Stone as a Coordinator of Sports. Stone will work with Assistant Commissioner Justin Saylor on field hockey, ice hockey, lacrosse and soccer.
“I am excited to welcome Colette Stone to the CHSAA team and I look forward to working with her directly,” Saylor said. “Colette brings a unique skillset having worked in both youth sports and interscholastic athletics at the state association level in New York. Everyone that has worked with Colette in the past has had nothing but positive experiences, and I know that the membership will enjoy much of the same.”
A graduate of Schuylerville High School in New York, Stone interned with the New York State Public High School Athletic Association during the spring 2023 semester. While with NYSPHSAA, she assisted the operation of 13 state championship tournaments, wrote three featured articles for the website section, Overtime Sports, and utilized social media to promote tournaments. Through her work, she increased the association’s Instagram following by over 3,000 followers, developed fan engagement strategies and proposed student resource programs.
In addition, Stone has served as a sport coordinator with i9 Sports in Clermont, Florida, where she monitored and facilitated game day and practice operations for youth baseball, basketball, volleyball and soccer. She established relationships between players, parents and coaches, and performed marketing functions to attract new clients.
She also has experience working as a volunteer assistant coach with Saratoga Springs Little League.
Stone comes to Colorado from Florida where she received her bachelor’s degree in sports management from the University of Florida in May.
