Esports: Playoff Results and Schedule

AURORA - The first two rounds of the Colorado High School Activities Association's 2023 Fall Esports State Championship brackets have been completed, and the final rounds will be played in person on Monday at Localhost in Lakewood. Live updates for League of Legends and Rocket League can be found on PlayVs and the championship rounds will be streamed on Twitch.

The Rocket League esports teams will play their quarterfinal, semifinal and championship rounds Monday, with the quarterfinals starting at 10 a.m., the semifinals starting at noon, and the championships beginning at 2 p.m. The League of Legends esports teams will play their semifinal and championship round on Monday. The semifinals will begin at 3 p.m. and the championship will start at 7 p.m. The event is open to the public. All championship information can be found on the event website

With the playoffs underway, remember to verify the legitimacy of streaming links before clicking them or entering information to avoid phishing scams. CHSAA's Twitch stream will be the only stream of the contests.

First Round & Second Round Rocket League Results

No. 1 Chaparral Crossbar Club (Chaparral) will face No. 8 Cherokee Trail Varsity (Cherokee Trail) in the quarterfinals. Chaparral Crossbar Club swept their way through matchups with No. 32 Wray Eagles RL (Wray) and No. 17 The Fine Lads (Highland), while Cherokee Trail Varsity was pushed to a six-game series their first round matchup with No. 25 Fossil Ridge Varsity Rocket League (Fossil Ridge) before sweeping No. 9 McClave Rocket League (McClave).

After playing the No. 29 Berthoud Spartans (Berthoud) and No. 20 RMHS Lobos Varsity (Rocky Mountain), No. 4 Valor RL Alpha Team (Valor Christian) reached the quarterfinal round without losing a single game. Their opponent will be No. 12 GMHS RL (Green Mountain). Green Mountain advanced to the quarterfinals thanks to a 4-1 upset of No. 5 Schleeb (Dakota Ridge) in the second round, after their 4-1 defeat of VRHS Rocket League A (Vista Ridge).

On the opposite side of the bracket, No. 2 FCHS (Fort Collins) advanced to the quarterfinals by winning their first round matchup with No. 31 RMHS Lobos JV (Rocky Mountain), 4-0, and beating No. 15 Sabercats Varsity (Castle View), 4-0. They'll face No. 7 VPP Bison (Vista PEAK) in the quarterfinals, after VPP Bison swept both No. 26 Myth (Legend) and No. 10 Faking Falcons (Highlands Ranch).

The final Rocket League quarterfinal pits No. 6 Gold Bear Creek HS (Bear Creek) against No. 14 CHS RL Varsity (Centaurus). CHS RL Varsity won their first round match over No. 19 DCHS Huskies - Purple (Douglas County) in five games, and then completed the biggest upset of the tournament, so far, when they toppled No. 3 Warriors Rocket Varsity (Central), 4-2. Meanwhile, Gold Bear Creek HS advanced thanks to a 4-0 victory over No. 27 Rocket Wolves - Blue (Grandview) in the first round, and a 4-1 win against No. 11 Greeley West RL A.


First Round & Quarterfinal League of Legends Results

Top seed Creek Varsity LoL (Chery Creek) swept No. 16 Chem Tank (Sterling) in the first round and defeated No. 8 MRHS Mustangs (Mountain Range), 2-1, in the quarterfinals. In the semifinals, Creek Varsity LoL will face No. 4 VPP Stampede (Vista PEAK).

VPP Stampede reached the semifinals without losing a game, as they swept both No. 13 DIFFerential (Highland) and No. 5 CECP League Lions (Colorado Early Colleges Parker).

On the other side of the bracket, No. 2 Dies Irae (Highland) and No. 3 Cherokee Trail Varsity (Cherokee Trail) will play each other in the semifinals, and both teams enter the match with spotless postseason records. Dies Irae defeated No. 15 Fossil Ridge Lol (Fossil Ridge) and No. 7 AWEST arKiac (Arvada West) without dropping a game, while Cherokee Trail Varsity triumphed over both No. 14 Ponderosa PricklyPentaPorcupinePeople (Ponderosa) and No. 6 CHS LoL Varsity (Centaurus) in sweeps.
