Proposed football alignment for the 2020 and 2021 seasons

Proposed football alignments for the 2020 and 2021 seasons are below, separated by classification, are below.

These alignments need to be approved by the Football Committee at its Dec. 2019 meeting, and then by the Legislative Council at its April 2020 meeting.

These alignments were developed through a collaborative effort based on a multitude of feedback from around the state over the 2018-19 school year.

The football committee representatives met numerous times to look at creating classifications and conference structure.

To do that, they used the following criteria:

  • Enrollment numbers
  • Competitive balance within each conference
  • Geography
  • Risk minimization
  • Success/non-success
  • School participation percentage
  • Regular season/postseason implications
