Chief Executive Officer of the Association
Mike Krueger is the Commissioner of the Colorado High School Activities Association (CHSAA), where he oversees the organization’s leadership, governance, and strategic direction. He became CHSAA’s 10th commissioner in 2022, bringing a long-standing commitment to education-based athletics and activities. In this role, he works with member schools, staff, and the Board of Directors to support student opportunities across Colorado.
Prior to joining CHSAA, Krueger served as Senior Director of Education for USA Football, a national governing body affiliated with the United States Olympic and Paralympic Committee. His career in education began as a middle school teacher in 1991 before moving to Palisade High School, where he served as a teacher and counselor from 1995 to 2006. He later became Assistant Principal and Director of Athletics and Activities at Palisade, holding that role until 2013. Krueger then served as Director of District Athletics and Activities for Aurora Public Schools from 2014 to 2018.
In addition to his professional roles, Krueger has been deeply involved in leadership within athletics organizations across Colorado. He served on the CHSAA Legislative Council, chaired the CHSAA Football Committee, and was active on multiple advisory committees. He also held leadership positions with the Colorado Athletic Directors Association, including serving as president from 2015 to 2018. Through his career, Krueger has remained focused on the positive impact of athletics and activities on students and school communities.
