Joe Brown is an Assistant Commissioner for the Colorado High School Activities Association (CHSAA), where he oversees boys and girls swimming, softball, and baseball, while also supporting officials and statewide programs. He joined CHSAA in 2026 after a distinguished career in education-based athletics across Colorado. In this role, he works closely with member schools, administrators, and stakeholders to support student-athletes and strengthen activities and athletics programs.

Prior to CHSAA, Brown served as athletic director and assistant principal at Niwot High School, where he led major facility improvements and expanded participation opportunities for students. He also previously worked at Roosevelt High School, where he developed leadership programs for coaches and students and helped build a strong culture around athletics and activities. Across his career, he has served as a teacher, coach, activity sponsor, and administrator, impacting students at multiple levels.

Brown has been actively involved in leadership roles across Colorado and nationally, including serving as President of the CHSAA Board of Directors. He has also contributed to organizations such as the Colorado Athletic Directors Association, Colorado High School Coaches Association, and the National High School Athletic Coaches Association. His work has been recognized with multiple honors, including Colorado Athletic Director of the Year and several distinguished service awards. Brown remains committed to advancing education-based athletics and supporting opportunities for student participation across Colorado.
