AURORA - Two upsets and a one-goal game highlighted the first round of the 2026 5A CHSAA Boys Lacrosse State Tournament, setting up the sweet 16 round, which will be played at home sites on Saturday. 

Throughout the first round, No. 11 Legend held on to knock off No. 22 Lewis-Palmer, 9-8, while No. 19 Northfield upset No. 14 Castle View, 10-6, and No. 19 Rock Canyon defeated No. 15 Denver East, 15-7. 

No. 9 Ralson Valley also advanced with a 15-5 win over No. 24 Pine Creek. No. 10 Colorado Academy picked up a 17-3 win over No. 23 Columbine, while No. 12 Cherokee Trail defeated No. 21 Chatfield, 14-4. No. 13 Grandview took down No. 20 Boulder, 16-8, and No. 16 Poudre School district picked up a 9-6 victory over No. 17 Heritage. 

Second round matchups will feature No. 1 Valor Christian hosting No. 16 Poudre School District, No. 2 Cherry Creek hosting No. 18 Rock Canyon, No. 3 Regis Jesuit taking on No. 19 Northfield and No. 4 Arapahoe meeting No. 13 Grandview. No. 5 Lakewood will next face No. 12 Cherokee Trail, with No. 6 Fairview meeting No. 11 Legend, No. 7 Erie taking on No. 10 Colorado Academy and No. 8 Mountain Vista hosting No. 9 Ralston Valley. 

The second round winners will advance to the quarterfinals, which will take place at home sites on Wednesday, May 13. The semifinals and finals then take place at the University of Denver's Peter Barton Stadium on Saturday, May 16 and Monday, May 18, respectively.
