AURORA - The Colorado High School Activities Association will host the final day of the 2026 Wrestling State Championships on Saturday with consolation, fifth place and third place matches taking place during the morning session before the finals in the afternoon session.
New for this year, finals matches will be starting at a drawn weight class. Finals matches will begin at 170 for girls and 190 for boys and will go up in weight order from there. After 235 for girls and 285 for boys will be 100 for girls and 106 for boys, with 155 girls and 175 boys being the final match of the evening.
Coincidentally, the new format saves one of the entire tournament's most anticipated matches for last, as the 5A girls mat will feature Pomona's Timberly Martinez, aiming to become a rare four-time state champion, and Brighton's Matilda Hruby, a junior two-time champion who would be in line to win a fourth state championship next year with a win Saturday.
The finals session will begin with the Parade of Champions at 4 p.m.
