AURORA - The Denver Broncos, in partnership with the Colorado High School Activities Association, will honor a High School Coach of the Week for both flag football and tackle football during the regular season for both sports this year. At the end of the season, a coach of the year will be selected for both sports.
The Denver Broncos have been honoring a tackle football coach of the week since 1996 and added a flag football coach of the week in 2024 to coincide with it being the first year as a CHSAA sanctioned sport.
There will be 10 coaches honored for both flag football and tackle football, with each coach receiving $2,500 from the Broncos to put towards their programs. The two coach of the year recipients will each receive $5,000 for their programs.
In addition, each of the 22 coaches will be honored on the field during a live, pregame ceremony at a Denver Broncos' regular-season home game this year. In addition, the Broncos' 'High School Salute' game is scheduled for Dec. 14 vs. the Green Bay Packers.
Coach of the Week winners will be announced every Wednesday during the regular season.
Flag football honorees will run from Wednesday, Aug. 20 through Wednesday, Oct. 22, while tackle football honorees will be announced Wednesday, Sept. 3 through Wednesday, Nov. 5. The two Coaches of the Year will be announced following the conclusion of the fall state championships.
