AURORA - Eight Tuesday-night winners in the second round of the 5A Boys Soccer State Championship have advanced to Saturday's quarterfinal round.

The top four seeds, and six of the top seven were victorious, however, No. 9 Boulder knocked off crosstown rival and No. 8 Fairview 2-1, while No. 12 Cherokee Trail edged No. 5 Denver East 4-2 in penalty kicks after the teams had played to a 2-2 draw.

Saturday's quarterfinal winners will advance to the Nov. 11 semifinals.

The semifinals and championship games for all four classifications, in addition to the 5A quarterfinals, will be hosted by CHSAA at a predetermined neutral site.

All four championship games are scheduled to be played at the Switchbacks' Weidner Field in Colorado Springs on Saturday, Nov. 15. The 2A final will be at 9 a.m., followed by the 3A final at noon, the 4A final at 3 p.m. and the 5A final at 6 p.m.
