Winter Sports, Activities Get Underway

AURORA —Practice for 2024-25 winter sports may officially begin today for high schools across the state of Colorado, with the exception of ice hockey, which started last week.

Scrimmages are scheduled to start on Saturday, Nov. 23, with the first competitions taking place on Monday, Dec. 2. For ice hockey, the first game may be Thursday, Nov. 21. 

Winter postseason competition will take place throughout the months of February and March, as the Colorado High School Activities Association will host championships in boys and girls basketball, ice hockey, boys and girls skiing, speech & debate, girls swimming and boys and girls wrestling.

Feb. 21-22: 4A State Championship at Pueblo Central High School
Feb. 28 - March 1: 5A State Championship at Overland High School
 
Girls Swimming & Diving (Swimming & Diving Bulletin)
All classifications at Veterans Memorial Aquatic Center in Thornton
Feb. 10-11: 3A State Championship
Feb. 7-8: 4A State Championship
Feb. 6-7: 5A State Championship

Boys and Girls Wrestling (Wrestling Bulletin)
All classifications (2A, 3A, 4A and 5A boys, 4A and 5A girls) at Ball Arena
Feb. 13-15: State Championships in Denver
