Arin Dunn joined the CHSAA office in July 2025.

Dunn is a seasoned athletics administrator, educator, and former Division I student-athlete with over a decade of progressive leadership experience at some of the country’s top institutions, including Wake Forest University, the University of Texas, and Kansas State University. A native of Broomfield, Colorado, Dunn grew up on a college campus immersed in the values of education and sport—his father was a successful high school and college basketball coach, and his mother was a dedicated teacher. That upbringing instilled in him a deep belief in the transformative power of sport and learning.

Earning a bachelor’s degree in communication studies and a minor in business administration from Colorado State University, Dunn was a men’s basketball student-athlete and an active member of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) in his time at CSU. He later completed a master’s degree in sport administration from the University of Northern Colorado. While working in student affairs at Colorado State, Dunn simultaneously pursued his passion for coaching by founding a boys AAU basketball program, which quickly rose to become one of the top teams in northern Colorado and one of the most competitive in the state.

Over the past 12 years, Dunn has held senior-level positions at institutions across multiple Power Five conferences, providing leadership in the areas of student-athlete development, sport administration, Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) strategy, and cross-functional team management. He has created innovative and impactful programs and initiatives that have elevated the student-athlete experience while advancing departmental priorities. He has also provided strategic leadership on some of the most significant and evolving issues in college athletics today— NIL, the Transfer Portal, revenue sharing, and the implications of the House settlement. He has successfully led major championship events, including the 2025 ACC Outdoor Track & Field Championships and NCAA Men’s Tennis Championship rounds, and served as the sport administrator for the 2025 NCAA Indoor and Outdoor Men’s Tennis Champions, as well as the 2022 and 2024 ACC Men’s Cross Country Champions.

In addition to his campus and conference leadership, Dunn plays an active role in national development efforts. He is a trusted facilitator for the NCAA, delivering leadership, character, and professional development programming to student-athletes, coaches, and administrators across the country. He has also served on conference-wide committees in the ACC, SEC, and Big 12, contributing to key initiatives focused on governance, inclusive excellence, and enhancing the student-athlete experience.

Guided by his personal philosophy of Engaging, Educating, Equipping, and Empowering, Dunn is deeply committed to building meaningful relationships, fostering inclusive environments, and helping student-athletes and staff reach their highest potential. He and his wife, Katie, have one son, Reece.
