AURORA - The Colorado High School Activities Association is excited to partner with Durango High School to host this year’s CHSAA Student Leadership Fall Conference on Friday and Saturday, Oct. 3-4. The two-day event designed to inspire, equip, and connect student leaders from across the state.
Durango High School, home to 1,350 students and a strong tradition of education-based participation, provides the perfect setting for this experience. Together, DHS and CHSAA are committed to promoting belonging, leadership, and the lifelong value of participation in activities.
Throughout the conference, students will:
- Participate in dynamic workshops and interactive sessions that sharpen leadership skills and build new strategies to take back to their schools and communities.
- Network with peers from across Colorado, fostering connections that promote respect, belonging, and shared purpose.
- Be inspired by keynote speaker Dale Garland, a proud DHS graduate and CHSAA Hall of Fame inductee. Dale’s story reflects the power of activities to transform lives, and he will challenge students to lead with purpose and embrace their potential.
This conference is more than an event—it’s a celebration of student voice, participation, and leadership development. Students will leave with renewed confidence, practical tools, and a deeper understanding of the impact they can have on their schools and communities.
We encourage administrators to consider how student leaders at their schools might benefit from this opportunity. The collegiality, shared learning, and sense of community built at this conference are the very essence of what CHSAA strives to provide through education-based activities.
