COMMERCE CITY - The Colorado High School Activities Association held its 3A and 4A 2024 Girls Soccer State Championships at Dick's Sporting Goods Park in Commerce City on Tuesday.
In the 3A title game, Colorado Academy defeated Jefferson Academy, 3-1, to capture its sixth girls soccer state championship, tying it with Grandview for the fourth-most girls soccer titles in state history. Colorado Academy is also now tied with Kent Denver for the most 3A girls soccer championships in the state. It was the Mustangs' first title girls soccer state championship since 2019. With this victory, each of the Mustangs' three most-recent state championships have ended with victories over the Jefferson Academy Jaguars in the state championship.
In the 4A title game, Evergreen beat Jefferson, 2-0, to claim its first girls soccer state title since 1997, and their third overall. With the victory, the Cougars ended the fifth-longest title drought, among girls soccer programs that already had multiple CHSAA championships. Evergreen finished as a runner-up in 2017, 2019 and 2021 before finally getting over the hump on Tuesday night. Lutheran has finished the season as runner-up each of the past two seasons, after previously never appearing in a girls soccer state championship game.
