AURORA - The Colorado High School Activities Association completed its 2024 Girls Lacrosse State Championship Tournaments at Peter Barton Stadium in Denver on Friday.
Evergreen started the day with a thrilling comeback victory over Mead to earn the second girls lacrosse state title in program history. The Cougars scored two goals in the final minute to flip the score from a 10-9 deficit to an 11-10 victory. Mead defeated Evergreen in last year's semifinals en route to the Mavericks' first state title.
The second game saw Colorado Academy win its ninth girls lacrosse state championship in as many seasons, with a 15-3 win over Fairview. The victory also marked the Mustangs' 10th girls lacrosse title overall -- tying Cherry Creek for the most in state history. This was the Knights' first time competing in the girls lacrosse state championshihp.
