AURORA - The Colorado High School Activities Association will host its 2024 Unified Bowling State Championships on Friday at Bowlero at Lone Tree. Warm ups will begin at 10:30 a.m., with the event starting at 10:45 a.m. 

There are 28 teams that have advanced to the state championships through regional competition. The state competition will be tournament play, where each team will bowl five three-player co-ed/modified Baker Games with the top-three teams being determined by total pinfall through those five games. All teams will play in an open format; there will be no bracket. The top two scores (based on total pinfall) will determine the state champion and runner up. 

A Baker Game is when team members rotate between the three players with each participant rolling one ball before a teammate rolls the next. Regardless of a spare or strike, the next participant will always roll the next ball. This format gives equal playing time for each member, creating meaningful participation that is essential to the Unified Sports® model.

This marks the fifth year of CHSAA's Unified Bowling State Championships. Pueblo East won the inaugural title in April 2021 (during Season C of the 2020-21 school year), while Pueblo South won the 2021 championship in November. Pueblo Central claimd the 2022 title and Windsor won a year ago. 

Teams competing this year: Arvada West, Chatfield, Cherry Creek, Denver East, Denver North, Doherty, Eagle Valley, Erie, Fort Lupton, Frederick, Horizon, Lakewood, Legacy, Legend, Littleton, Mitchell, Montbello, Northridge, Pagosa Springs, Pueblo Centennial, Pueblo South, Rangeview, Riverdale Ridge, Rye, Sierra, Silver Creek, Strasburg and Vista Peak
