AURORA - The 2024 football state tournament brackets are due to be seeded and released on Sunday by the Colorado State High School Activities Association (CHSAA) office for all classifications except 3A. The 3A tournament brackets will be released next Sunday, Nov. 10.
Teams will be seeded using the CHSAA Seeding Index. The official rankings are updated hourly with the latest RPI data, and each Monday and Thursday with MaxPreps data. (Find answers to FAQs about the Seeding Index here.)
That means that this week's games will bring the regular season to a close. A schedule of games, as well as scores, is available on the Scoreboard. Check where teams are currently ranked in each classification on this page.
The 4A and 5A tournaments will be 24-team, single-elimination brackets, while every other classification will have a 16-team single-elimination bracket. In 4A and 5A, the top eight seeded teams will receive a first-round bye, and host in the second round of the playoff bracket. Teams seeded numbers 9-24 will play in the first round, with the higher seeded team hosting.
In 8-man, 3A, 4A and 5A, the higher seeded team will host until the finals. In 6-man and 2A, the higher seeded team hosts the semifinals. The second round game shall be hosted by the team which has had the fewer home games during the state playoffs. If both teams have had an equal number of home games, the team with the higher designation will host that game.
In 1A, the higher seed hosts the first round and then the home team at each subsequent playoff game shall be that team which has had the fewer home games during the state playoffs. If both teams have had an equal number of home games, the team with the higher designation will host that game.
