Jimmy Womack is the epitome of the small school coach. He coached virtually every sport offered by his school, including volleyball, boys’ and girls’ track and field, boys’ and girls’ basketball and baseball. Womack’s teams earned 12 berths in the state playoffs, but his impact on three schools in southeastern Colorado is what sets him apart from his contemporaries. He established solid programs at each stop. His teams, in all sports, have rolled up a combined coaching record of 1,038-315 during his career
