Lonnie Rogers is the epitome of the small school educator. For 33 years, he was involved with Creede schools as a teacher, coach and administrator. If ever a person was born to devote his life to kids, Lonnie is that person. A two-time member of the CHSAA’s Executive Committee and a true leader who brought people together, Rogers unified people through a great sense of humor. And Lonnie was on the committee when it selected two new Commissioners. As Creede’s boys’ basketball coach, Lonnie’s teams piled up 224 wins, won eight conference and district titles and three regional tournaments. One of his teams finished second in state
