Holding the state record in the pole vault since 1986 only tells a part of the success that Pat Manson has enjoyed since his four-year career at Aurora Central High School. His high school career included all-state honors in 1985 in soccer, serving as the state’s premier pole vaulter throughout his career, one of the state’s top sprinters and his school’s valedictorian. In addition, he helped his team to the 1986 AAA track title. He was the recipient of the Fred Steinmark Award from the Rocky Mountain News. Manson was a seven-time All-America at Kansas in the pole vault and a two-time NCAA meet record holder. Since 1991, Pat has been a three-time Pan American Games gold medalist and record holder, has been ranked No. 1 in the country
