Dick Katte

Dick Katte is the consummate educator and coach, setting the same standards on the court as in the classroom. The state's winningest basketball coach, his teams have won 80.9% (634-150) of their games since 1964, including 18 Metropolitan League titles and five state championships. During his career at DCHS, Katte has served in a variety of roles, but always as a math teacher. He has been the school's track, baseball, football and boy's basketball coach. Since 1965, he has been the school's athletic director and assistant principal. He has numerous coach-of-the-year honors and has been honored by the state national coaches associations, as well as for his work as athletic director. He is a member of four other halls of fame and has served on the Executive Committee twice
