A four-time letter winner in football, basketball and baseball at Wellington High School from 1930-34, Byron White is one of Colorado’s legendary student-athletes. He was selected as Colorado’s best athlete over the quarter century by the Colorado Sports Hall of Fame in 1989 was inducted into that hall in 1965. He was on an academic scholarship at CU where he won eight letters in football and basketball. A Rhodes Scholar and All-America for the Buffaloes, he played three years in the National Football League. He was an Associate Justice for the U.S. Supreme Court for 30 years. He is a member of the National High School Hall of Fame
