A longtime advocate of girls sports in the state, Joyce Davisson is remembered in two ways. First as an outstanding coach in girls gymnastics and track & field where her teams won a pair of Jefferson County League championships and a state title. The other is her advocacy of girls sports in Colorado. She started the gymnastics and track programs at Arvada High School and was the school's first girls basketball coach
