With the trademark of fairness and consistency, long-time Pueblo administrator and coach John Rivas established himself as one of the state's foremost athletic administrators, serving as host for many state championships and working within his community on behalf of high school participants. Rivas served District 60 as teacher, athletic and activities director, assistant principal, personnel director and principal. He is a member of the Mexican American Hall of Fame, Greater Pueblo Sports Hall of Fame and was named Colorado's Outstanding Athletic Director. He serves as President of the Foundation for Colorado High School Student Activities
