Jim Baggot

One of the state’s finest basketball coaches, Jim Baggot served 29 years as four different high schools compiling a 423-105 record, averaging 14.5 wins per season. His teams won five state titles and finished second twice in 16 state playoff appearances. A five-time coach of the year, Baggot’s teams were noted for their fierce defense and fast breaking offense. When he retired John Wooden and Dean Smith sent sentiments, both of whom had integrated some of Baggot’s coaching style into their programs at UNC and UCLA, respectively. Baggot is a member of the National High School Hall of Fame
