Bob Ottewill
CHSAA
Bob Ottewill started with the Association in 1972 to work with publications and media. In 1986, he was named Associate Commissioner by the Executive Committee and became Commissioner when Ray Plutko left the Association in 1990. During his tenure, the CHSAA became a leading governing body in rules reform, working with the state legislature and corporate sponsorship. Other key accomplishments under Ottewill’s tenure include the addition of four sports – girls field hockey, boys and girls lacrosse, girls’ golf and spirit – underscoring a commitment to girls’ sports. He guided the Association to the level of financial security it has today and developed a plan where the schools share in the financial success of the organization.
