A three-sport athlete at Custer County in football, basketball and track, Wilson is one of the state’s finest basketball players, having led the state in scoring for three years. His teams went 61-9 (81-13 over four years) during his last three years when he averaged 30.1 points per game during that span and averaged over 20 rebounds per game. He averaged 35.5 points a game as a senior. He still holds 10 state records, including five state tournament marks. He averaged 20.4 rebounds per game during his career with the Bobcats. Wilson served 10 years as coach of his alma mater.
