The state tournament brackets are out ahead of hockey's Frozen Four next week.

With the regular season concluding on Thursday, the Class 5A and 4A brackets were drawn and seeded on Friday. The fields were determined, in each classification, using league champions and one at-large qualifier, as determined by the CHSAA Seeding Index.

The Seeding Index, which also seeded each bracket, combines the CHSAA RPI, MaxPreps Rankings and CHSAANow coaches poll. Further information is available here.

In 5A, league champions were No. 1 seed Fort Collins, No. 2 Regis Jesuit and No. 3 Valor Christian. As the next-highest rated team in the Seeding Index, No. 4 Chaparral qualified.

In 4A, league champions were No. 1 Crested Butte, No. 2 Kent Denver, and No. 4 seed Cheyenne Mountain. As the next-highest rated team in the Seeding index, Battle Mountain qualified, and was the No. 3 seed as they had a higher rating than Cheyenne Mountain.

The CHSAA Frozen Four runs next Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday at Budweiser Events Center in Loveland.
