The plan for the CHSAA state wrestling tournament is to proceed as scheduled, CHSAA assistant commissioner Adam Bright said on Wednesday.

With a snowstorm in the forecast this weekend, the CHSAA office is monitoring the situation as the storm system approaches and the forecast becomes clearer. But, as of Wednesday morning, no adjustment has been made to the schedule of the tournament, which is set to run Thursday (girls), Friday (classes 2A and 3A boys) and Saturday (classes 4A and 5A boys) in Pueblo.

Thursday's event marks the first-ever sanctioned girls wrestling state tournament.

According to CHSAA bylaw 5110.2, tournaments shall be postponed if "25% or more of [the participants] are unable to be present."

Bright communicated with schools competing on Saturday, and the majority are already scheduled to be in Pueblo by Friday evening. Unless anything changes, more than 75% of participants in the tournament will be available to compete in the tournament on Saturday, meaning bylaw 5110.2 would not come into play.

Should information change, further updates will be available on CHSAANow.
