Denver South's Carly Dilworth sets state record with 11 3-pointers in a game

Denver South senior Carly Dilworth broke the state record for 3-pointers in a game when she nailed 11 in a win over Bear Creek on Friday.

The previous record of 10 was first set in 1997 by Alamosa's Kerri Alsbaugh, and was since tied by five others.

Dilworth, a multi-sport athlete who also participates in lacrosse and spirit, was 11-of-22 from 3-point as she amassed 39 points, a new career high, in the 78-22 win.

She was 2-of-3 from 2-point and hit both free throws she attempted. She also had four steals.

Through 12 games, Dilworth leads the state across all classifications with 59 made 3-pointers — meaning she is on pace to break the record for 3-pointers in a season (103), set last year by Megan Engesser of Colorado Springs Christian.

She's already in the top-20 of 3-pointers made in a career with 198.

Dilworth has made 52 percent of the 3-pointers she has attempted this season, which ranks third in the state.
