Colorado Academy girls soccer beats Kent Denver in matchup of 3A's top two teams

Mari Annest scored two goals as second-ranked Colorado Academy won a huge matchup against No. 1 Kent Denver on Thursday.

The Mustangs tallied goals in each hald en route to a 2-0 win.

Maya Pellegrini had an assist, and Juliet Cramer notched a shutout in goal.

Colorado Academy, now 13-1-0 this season, has now won eight games in a row, and is in position to move into a tie for the Metro League title with a win over Stargate School in their regular season finale on Saturday.

Kent Denver currently leads at 9-1-0. Jefferson Academy and CA are both 8-1-0.

With the win over Kent, Colorado Academy holds a head-to-head tiebreaker, but Jefferson Academy beat Colorado Academy head-to-head.

Each of those three teams sit in the top 3 of this week's Class 3A girls soccer rankings.
