Coronado athletic director Jimmy Porter announced the hiring of former Lewis-Palmer assistant Crissy Leonhardt as the new volleyball coach of the Cougars.

Leonhardt was an assistant for the Rangers for four years and was a part of two of L-P's state championship teams.

She played high school volleyball at Manitou Springs and played collegiately at Charleston Southern University.

"I have been coaching for almost seven years now and I couldn't think of a better program to be a part of," Leonhardt said in a release. "I am excited to get the season started adn share my passion with so many young athletes.

Leonhardt takes over for Julie Ward who spent just one year with the Cougars. The program is just a year removed from its last state tournament appearance.
