Peak to Peak's Nathan Poretz launched four home runs in his team's game against Kent Denver on Monday.
Portez, a senior, entered the contests with one home run through six games this season, and he had one home run in his first three seasons.
But on Monday, he broke loose when he went 4-for-4 with seven RBIs and the four homers.
His home runs:
- Top of the 1st, a two-run shot to center field on the first pitch.
- Top of the 3rd, a solo shot to left field on a 3-2 count.
- Top of the 4th, a two-run shot to left field on a 1-1 count.
- Top of the 4th, a two-run shot to right field on the first pitch.
Poretz also walked in the top of the fourth inning.
Suddenly, he is tied for the state lead with five home runs this season.
Peak to Peak won the game, 22-8. The Pumas, ranked No. 10 in Class 3A, are now 7-2 this season.
