Longmont's Leif Nuesken goes the distance in top-10 win over Roosevelt

Longmont senior Leif Nuesken allowed just four hits over seven innings in helping his seventh-ranked Trojans edge No. 5 Roosevelt in a top-10 Class 4A baseball matchup on Tuesday.

Nuesken struck out five batters, and allowed just two walks in the pitcher's duel, which saw Roosevelt senior Tyler Crook toss six innings of five-hit baseball.

The difference in the game was a first-inning run for Longmont, provided by an RBI from sophomore Devon Nowells which plated Grant Rulon.

Longmont is now 7-3 this season, and has won four consecutive games.

Roosevelt, meanwhile, is now 8-3.
