Hockey's state tournament bracket is out; Regis Jesuit top seed

AURORA — The 2019 state tournament bracket for hockey is out, and defending champion Regis Jesuit is the top overall seed.

The Raiders will receive a first-round bye as a result, and host the winner of the first-round game between Kent Denver and Aspen.

The state tournament begins play this week, with first-round games set for Tuesday and Wednesday. The second round is scheduled for Friday, and quarterfinals are Saturday. All games through the quarterfinals are at home sites.

The semifinals are March 1 at the Pepsi Center, and the championship game is scheduled for March 4, a Monday, also at Pepsi Center.

Other teams with first-round byes include No. 2 Valor Christian, last season's runner-up, No. 3 Fort Collins, No. 4 Chaparral, No. 5 Denver East, No. 6 Dakota Ridge, No. 7 Monarch, No. 8 Doherty.
