In November, Lewis-Palmer's McKenna Sciacca was named the Class 4A volleyball player of the year. Now, she's the Gatorade player of the year.

Sciacca, a senior, was named Colorado's volleyball player of the year by Gatorade on Tuesday. She now becomes a finalist for the national award.

A 5-foot-11 setter, she helped lead Lewis-Palmer to a third-consecutive 4A championship last fall. The Rangers finished 28-1.

Sciacca had 829 assists, 246 digs, 64 aces and 39 blocks. After the season, she was named first-team all-state in 4A, and also earned the 4A player of the year honors.

Sciacca has a 3.48 GPA, and is signed to play at Northern Colorado.

She becomes the fifth Lewis-Palmer athlete to win a Gatorade player of the year award, including the third volleyball player. Sciacca follows Michaela Putnicki (2016-17) and Alexa Smith (2014-15).
