The 2018 Alamosa softball team made a bit of history on Saturday.
The Mean Moose, in their first season field a varsity squad, picked up their first-ever first win with a 16-8 decision over Wray during the Valley/Platte Valley Fall Classic.

On Saturday, Alamosa trailed 7-6 in the bottom of the third, then rallied to go up 8-7. They eventually piled on more runs to take the 16-8 victory.
The team, coached by Roxi Vigil, plays in Class 3A's Region 2, which includes perennial powers La Junta, Lamar and Rocky Ford.
They host their first varsity contest on Aug. 24 against Gunnison.
