Cornerstone Christian has hired Jared Wallen to be its new football coach, the school announced on Monday.
Wallen was the head football coach at Green Mountain from 2013-15. Prior to that, he was the defensive coordinator at Greeley Central for six seasons, and also was a graduate assistant at the University of Northern Colorado.
"Cornerstone Christian Academy is excited to have someone with the depth of experience and pedigree that Jared Wallen brings," new Cornerstone Christian athletic director Reed Doughty said in a statement. "Mr. Wallen has a great vision for the football program and brings credibility, attention to detail and a love for the game to the Bulldog Football Program.
"Mr. Wallen has proven his ability to coach, lead and mentor young men in the game of football and life, and we are excited to know that he will continue that calling here at Cornerstone Christian."
Wallen played college football at Northern Colorado, graduating in 2004. He later earned a masters degree from UNC.
At Green Mountain, a Class 3A program, Wallen was 8-22 in three seasons. He takes over for Tim Naiman at Cornerstone, who went 14-12 in three seasons.
The Bulldogs, who went 5-4 last season, play at the 1A level.
