Niwot names Hollingsworth new football coach

Niwot has hired Dylan Hollingsworth as its new football coach, athletic director Chase McBride said on Tuesday.

Hollingsworth has been the head coach at Summit over the past 10 seasons.

"With over 20 years of coaching experience, coach Hollingsworth has the necessary tools to be successful at Niwot High School," McBride wrote in an email.

Hollingsworth went 53-51 at Summit, taking over just prior to the 2005 season. His Tigers went 1-9 in Class 3A last season.

Niwot went 0-10 under former coach Josh Brewer last season. The Cougars, also a 3A program, haven't won in 16 games.

They are expected to return key contributors at all skill positions next season.

Hollingsworth is a native of Jackson, Wyo., and played college football at Chadron State (Neb.).
