A choral group comprised of five seniors from Niwot High School were named the winners of CHSAA's National Anthem Contest on Friday.
Together, they will sing the national anthem prior to the Class 4A and 5A football championship games at Sports Authority Field at Mile High on Nov. 29.
"We are looking forward to seeing them perform," said Harry Waterman, CHSAA assistant commissioner who administers football.
The group — Katie Gillett, Joe Castinado, Kenny Wilson, Steven Schaetzl, and Abrianna Judson — were named finalists on Thursday after finishing in the top three of a vote among 10 semifinalists. More than 23,000 votes were cast in the contest.
On Friday, the CHSAA staff selected the choral group as the winner of the contest.
