Chris Curneen, who has been involved in basketball for 30 years, including the past seven as the head coach of the Cherry Creek girls, is retiring.
Curneen's Bruins went 19-6 this past season, and reached the Class 5A Sweet 16. His teams were 130-61 in his seven seasons.
"He is going to focus on spending time with his family," Cherry Creek athletic director Jason Wilkins said.
Cherry Creek will post the job opening on Monday for two weeks.
The Bruins have quite a few contributors set to return for next season, including sophomore Jana Van Gytenbeek, a Stanford commit who averaged 16.4 points, 7.8 assists and 5.3 rebounds per game last season. Van Gytenbeek was named first-team all-state on Friday.
