Stargate and Cornerstone Christian hosted a cancer benefit to raise money for the sister of a volleyball player at the school.

During the team's home match on Wednesday against Cornerstone Christian, the Eagles raised more than $2,000 for Gabby Spangler, the second-grade sister of Stargate's Adriana Spangler who was diagnosed with leukemia in July 2016.

Gabby attends Cornerstone's elementary school. The two schools partnered to benefit Gabby's family. During the match, they sold pink t-shirts, had a basket raffle and also had kill sponsors. All gate proceeds went to Gabby, as well.

Stargate volleyball coach Karlie Segeff was behind much of the event, and made it a reality.

Stargate won the match in four sets, 25-16, 23-25, 25-15, 25-20.
