Cherry Creek got the right win at the right time. The Bruins beat nationally ranked Torrey Pines last week, give them the clout needed to take over the No. 1 spot in the Class 5A CHSAANow.com boys lacrosse rankings.

Regis Jesuit, the former No. 1, dropped to No. 2.

Arapahoe made a two-spot jump to come in at No. 4, sitting right behind No. 3 Mountain Vista.

There were no new teams in the 5A poll this week.

There was a newcomer in the 4A poll, however, as Air Academy is back in the top 10. The Kadets come in at No. 9 this week.

Windsor also made a decent jump this week, coming in three spots better at No. 6.

With 10 first-place votes, Dawson remains the No. 1 team in the 4A rankings.

The rankings, voted upon by coaches and select media members, are the official polls of the Association.

During the regular season, new polls are released each Monday.
